"Anyone who grew up in the Bronx during the 70's will appreciate the detailed description, the music and the memories of the old neighborhood."
- New York Daily News

"Streets of Honor
is the R&B sound track of your life"
- DJ Rick Barber, 850KOA.com

This novel is raw with the feel of New York in the 70's. It is a truthful glimpse into the face of something that not everyone can get through and not everyone can enjoy the way Steve does. The author has written a testament to the strength of his character's character. Whether it is more real life memory than fiction we'll likely not know for sure, but the author certainly puts his feeling into his work. I very much enjoyed the read and hope to see more from Stephen A. Welles in the future."

Streets of Honor
is an intriguing look at a period commonly skipped over in our history books and for those of us that grew up in similar surroundings, Welles' description of music, the streets, the sports and the love stories will bring memories. There is something almost wholesome about the view of this ghetto. The book pulses with the character and sounds of the early ''70s in New York City. Streets of Honor is specific to it's time and place, but the struggles of its characters overcoming all odds resonates today."

What readers are saying about Streets of Honor:

"Thank you for paving the way and sharing about the old-school days, which were the foundation of the music and lifestyle that we have today which many people don't even realize! I think this book will enlighten many to a time back in the day that has long been forgotten in our history books… So, is there going to be a book two? I look forward to it!"
- Eladio

"I was gobbling it up...I really like it...I grew up in Queens, New York at a similar time in the early 1970's so I have been seeing a lot of my own childhood in these stories. I suspect many other people will too. I must say Steve really captured the period authentically with the music, the streets, the love stories, the sports, the tough times and all the things that were happening back in the day, which to me was like taking a walk back in time! Thank you for the heartfelt walk down memory lane."
- Debbie

"I love this book. I saw Bronx Tale and West Side Story AND Black Board Jungle. I guess it might be placed in the same category but this is a more unique novel about Steve, the times, the struggle, and the determination to survive back in the day and the finality as I see it is complete SUCCESS! Thanks for the memories."
- Victoria

"I couldn’t stop reading it. To realize how a young man was deprived of basic things back in the 70's that young people take for granted today and how this young man overcame at times insurmountable odds! The music, for me, was probably one of the most awesome parts of the book, which I personally could relate to and had such a love for at that time and place. In addition, I don't know why I left this out but at the end of the story, tears were rolling down my eyes."
- Dee

Thanks Partner, for trying to bridge the gap between generations. I hope that people really get something from the message you convey from this story. I did… It's deep and loaded with symbolism!"
-  Mike
